Tesla Reworking (portfolio piece) by Ravanna7 Tesla Reworking (portfolio piece) by Ravanna7
I loved my Tesla character from Uni, couldn't bear to leave him out of portfolio, so I spent a few hours re compositing him and changing the lighting order, very little painting required.
What a difference a year makes.

Full comparison proves my point I think.

Wonderful work on this piece! The goggles and Tesla's expression are superb! I know you must be very busy, but if you get the chance, a little feedback on my Tesla drawings would be greatly appreciated! Keep up the epic work! :)

depends if you're going for realism or stylised. For realism, imagine the textures as physical materials, placing more emphasis on how much specular, ambient occlusion metals/leathers have.
inspecting these materials IRL can help.
Paint "material maps" as a diffuse 1st, bright colours that indicate different materials. You can then use tiling detailed textures over those groups.
/end brief essay :p
